Peter Murphy (BAUHAUS) Rolling Stone Interview

Peter Murphy

On the odds of Bauhaus reuniting

Peter Murphy stopped by the Rolling Stone studio to talk about his recent record, Ninth, and suggested it's best not to hold our breaths for a Bauhaus reunion. "Bauhaus hasn't existed since the last album in 2006, and that was only for 18 days," he tells us. "The further away from each other we are, the better. It's too emotional."

Depeche Mode to Work on New Music This Year

Depeche Mode will begin work on a new album this year. Founding member Martin Gore told The Quietus that his band looks to hit the studio in March to work on what will be their first studio effort since 2009's Sounds of the Universe. They hope to be finished with the new album by the end of this year. That's good news for fans of this neo wave goth act. Gore also said that working with former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke on their forthcoming LP Ssss under their VCMG moniker has worked wonders for him and has stirred his creativity. "It was a nice break for me to be able to go and do something completely different that doesn't involve poring over lyrics and having to think about vocal melodies," he said. "I think I went back to actually writing for the band with much more vigor afterwards, because I had taken such a break. It gave me a real creative impetus." VCMG's Ssss drops in March. It's the first time Gore and Clarke have worked together in 30 years. Track Listing: 'Lowly' 'Zaat' 'Spock' 'Windup Robot' 'Bendy Bass' 'Single Blip' 'Skip This Track' 'Aftermaths' 'Recycle' 'Flux' Do you want to check out Ssss?
